Neither Krzysztof nor I had heard the song "I'm On a Boat!" until we returned from our trip (many people think we live in a box), but it was a phrase frequently heard on our recent houseboat adventure. (Disclaimer: the song is not for sensitive ears). So, there we are on the houseboat! No, we did not mean to match each other that day. The houseboat trip was over Memorial Day weekend on Lake Cumberland in Kentucky. It was a 30th birthday celebration for our friends from MI Blain & Trevor Levitt. 12.5 people cruised in style for 3 nights on our 78 foot boat complete with 6 staterooms, a huge kitchen, a wetbar on the deck, 2 slides, and a 15 person hot tub! By the way, the 1/2 person was Christian, our friends Brandon & Stephanie's 1 year old son. The lake system was huge and beautiful (although you wouldn't know it from this picture), and the trip exceeded our expectations. The boat was roomier and cleaner than anticipated, and there was always something to do since the Levitts brought their ski boat. I would highly recommend this type of trip for a group of friends or a family (http://statedock.com/). Valerie was happy to have Sarah, a pregnant buddy, also on the boat to hang out with while others were skiing, cliff jumping, and drinking.Thursday, June 4, 2009
